Aspley's Rich History
Aspley was settled in 1838 by German missionaries and became known as Little Cabbage Tree Creek District from the year 1842. The region’s first school, as pictured, Little Cabbage Tree Creek School was established in 1890, now named Aspley State Primary School. Recently, many beautiful parks have been created on the banks of the namesake creek Little Cabbage Tree Creek. The creek weaves it’s way through Aspley, Carseldine, Bridgeman Downs and McDowall.
Aspley was predominantly a farming community during the 1860’s. The Royal Exchange Hotel and general store, opened in 1875 on Gympie Road opposite the Albany Creek Road intersection. In 1975 Aspley was split up, with the suburbs of Carseldine and Bridgeman Downs being formed.
In 1957, the Aspley Starlight drive-in opened on Albany Creek Road. Redevelopment of the drive-in site as residential housing is now complete.

Only a 6 minute drive from the heart of Aspley is Carseldine Train station.
